Suho (Korean: 수호) is the leader of Exo-K. Born Kim Jun-myeon (Korean: 김준면; Hanja: 金俊勉) on (1991-05-22) May 22, 1991 in Seoul, South Korea, Suho has one older brother four years his senior. Suho was an active student and earned good grades during grade school – he was the class president at his primary school and the vice chairman at his high school.
Suho was the first Exo member to become an S.M. Entertainment trainee at sixteen years old, and was discovered through the company’s street casting system in 2006. In 2007, Suho was cast as an extra in the Super Junior film, Attack on the Pin-Up Boys, and in 2008, he made a brief appearance in TVXQ’s music video, “HaHaHa Song” with fellow Exo bandmates Kai and Chanyeol.
Suho was formally introduced as a member of Exo on February 15, 2012. Pursuing a degree in acting, Suho currently attends Korea National University of Arts and is placed in the top 50 of 400 students at the school.
Byun Baek-hyun (Korean: 변백현; Hanja: 邊伯賢) is the main vocalist of Exo-K. Born on (1992-05-06) May 6, 1992 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, he attended Jungwon High School and was an active member of the school’s musical band. While studying for his entrance exams, he was scouted by an S.M. Entertainment casting agent and was cast into the company after auditioning for the S.M. Casting System in 2011. Baekhyun was formally introduced as a member of Exo on January 30, 2012.
Park Chan-yeol (Korean: 박찬열; Hanja: 朴燦烈), known as the main rapper of the group, was born on (1992-11-27) November 27, 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. He attended Hyundai Chungun High School in Dong-gu, Ulsan. When he was sixteen years old, he was enrolled in a private acting institution. Skilled in playing the drums, Chanyeol formed a temporary band with his high school classmates, and won second place in a televised modeling contest. He was cast into S.M. Entertainment through the S.M. Casting System in 2008, and made a brief appearance in TVXQ’s music video, “HaHaHa Song” with Suho and Kai that same year. In 2010, Chanyeol starred in the music video of Girls’ Generation Japanese single, “Genie”. Chanyeol was the last member of the group to be formally introduced to the public, on February 23, 2012.
D.O. (Korean: 디오) is the main vocalist of Exo-K. Born Do Kyeong-su (Korean: 도경수; Hanja: 都暻秀) on (1993-01-12) January 12, 1993 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, D.O. auditioned for the S.M. Casting System in 2010 after winning in a singing competition. D.O. was formally introduced as a member of Exo on January 30, 2012.
Kai (Korean: 카이), born Kim Jong-in (Korean: 김종인; Hanja: 金鍾仁) on (1994-01-14) January 14, 1994, is from Seoul, South Korea. He was cast into S.M. Entertainment after winning in the company’s Youth Best Contest in 2007. Known as the group’s “lead” dancer, Kai was formally trained in ballet and jazz dance. In 2008, he made a brief appearance in TVXQ’s music video, “HaHaHa Song” along with Exo-K’s Suho and Chanyeol. Kai was the first of the twelve members to be formally introduced through teaser trailers; his teaser was released on December 23, 2011. Kai appeared in twelve more trailers in the next three months, and performed with Exo-M’s Lu Han, Tao, and Chen on SBS’s Gayo Daejun event on December 29, 2011. Kai graduated from School of Performing Arts Seoul in early 2012.
Oh Se-hun (Korean: 오세훈; Hanja: 吳世勳), born (1994-04-12) April 12, 1994, is from Seoul, South Korea. He was scouted by a casting agent on the streets when he was twelve, and was successfully placed into S.M. Entertainment in 2008, after going through four auditions in two years. Sehun was formally introduced as a member of Exo on January 10, 2012.He graduated from School of Performing Arts Seoul.
